Online Counseling in Ohio

Accessible, confidential, and deeply personal therapy from wherever you are.

Working from Home

Do you want help, but can’t make it to an office?

Maybe your schedule is packed. Maybe anxiety, distance, or childcare make it hard to get out the door. Or maybe you just feel more comfortable opening up from your own space.

At Purpose Counseling, we offer 100% virtual therapy for both individuals and couples throughout Ohio, so you can get the support you need — without the commute, stress, or barriers.

Virtual therapy allows you to receive the same quality of care, connection, and confidentiality as in-person sessions, all from your laptop, tablet, or phone.

You want therapy to fit your life, not the other way around.

Life can get busy — between work, family, and everything else, it’s not easy to carve out time for your mental health. With online therapy, you can meet from your office during lunch, your car between errands, or your home at night after the kids go to bed. Flexibility means you don’t have to put your healing on hold.

Leaving home can sometimes feel like too much.

Whether it’s social anxiety, physical limitations, or just the emotional weight of the day, sometimes getting to an office adds stress. Virtual therapy removes that barrier — you can still get the care and support you need in a way that feels safe and comfortable.

You want quality care that’s secure and professional.

We get it! Online therapy should still feel private and personal. That’s why we use Doxy.me, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform designed specifically for healthcare. There’s no app to download, no complicated setup, just a safe, simple connection with your therapist.

You deserve care that meets you where you are — literally.

How Virtual Therapy Works

Getting started is simple. Here’s what to expect:

1. Schedule your session.
You can book your appointment directly online or through your therapist. Once scheduled, you’ll receive your personalized Doxy.me link.

2. Log in at the time of your session.
At your appointment time, click the link. Type in your name, and you’ll enter a virtual waiting room. Your therapist will see you’re there and let you in when it’s time to start.

3. Begin your session.
Your session will feel just like meeting in person: private, face-to-face, and focused entirely on you (or you and your partner). You can share openly, do exercises, and receive support exactly as you would in an office setting.

Why Work With Us

  • We make virtual therapy feel personal. We believe therapy should still feel warm, human, and relational — even through a screen.

  • Experienced in both individual and couples work. Our therapists are trained in DBT, ACT, EFT, and the Gottman Method, allowing us to support you through trauma, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges.

  • Secure and confidential. We use Doxy.me, a fully HIPAA-compliant platform that protects your privacy at every step.

  • Faith integration available. If you want to include your Christian faith in therapy, we can integrate that. If not, we meet you where you are.

  • Ohio-based, but location-flexible. As long as you’re physically in Ohio at the time of your session, we can meet virtually — wherever you feel most comfortable.

We’ve seen how much healing can happen when therapy fits into real life. Virtual sessions make that possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research consistently shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person care for most concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Many clients even prefer it because they feel more comfortable and open at home.

2. Do I need special equipment?
No. You just need a device with a camera and microphone (like a smartphone, laptop, or tablet) and a stable internet connection. There’s no app to install — just click your therapist’s secure Doxy.me link at the time of your appointment.

3. Is it private and HIPAA-compliant?
Absolutely. Doxy.me is specifically designed for healthcare providers and meets all HIPAA privacy and security standards. Your session is never recorded, and no data is stored.

4. Can couples do therapy virtually together?
Yes! Couples can join from the same location or from different places. The session functions the same way as in-person couples counseling, using tools like the Gottman Method or EFT to help you reconnect.
